LOVE YOU | Paige Evans

Hi everyone, i am back again and I have a new layout for. For this page I used Paige’s Love You cut file and her Whimsical collection.

loveyou-jana1

I cut the Love You from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo and backed the open letters with Paper 16 and Paper 19. I wanted to have some mixed media in the background so I grabbed one of my favorite heart stencils and modeling paste. I used Shimmerz and watercolors to mix the perfect shades of purple. I used 3D squares for the cut file to raise it up and to create shadows and dimension. The picture I scrapped is a small one of my hubby. I decided to go with black & white just because of all the purple I am using here. I fussy cut matching embellishments: hearts from Paper 11, flowers from Paper 14, and random words from Paper 18.

loveyou-jana2

I also created layered hearts to fill the open spaces. I used tissue paper and stitched all of the layers together. The thread also gives extra texture and interest. I placed all of the embellishments pretty close together, all around my photo. Some flowers from the Floral Die Cuts were also added to the mix of pretty purple stuff. I scattered a lot of little hearts around the cut file and I really love how this layout turned out. Be sure to check out Paige’s cut files for ideas and inspiration. I always get ideas and I always find a perfect cut file for my next project!

please check out my YOUTUBE channel for a process Video for this layout… thank you!

Sketch inspired Layout | Vicki Boutin

Hi everyone, i have a new Layout to share. It´s February and we will share some new Challenges over the month and we´re starting with a Sketch.
I´ve created the Sketch and i hope you´re inspired to use it for your next project. Here you go…

sketch15

I stayed pretty close to the sketch and started my project with some pretty papers and heart punches. I layered three or four paper hearts with some tissue paper and tulle together and stitched through the middle of all pieces. Then i ruffled up the edges for some dimension. I really love how they turned out.

vb-specialjana-040219 (1)

I decided to go with some soft colors today, mint and light pink. I did some stamping and fussy cutting for some black details. The floral stamps from the Field Notes Collection are my favorites… I also grabbed a kraft tag and some tiny pictures from my craft room. I know, it is a love layout but hey, i really love my studio and i am way to proud of it 😉

vb-specialjana-040219 (2)

I added two big stripes of the Acrylic Paint on the upper right corner, like the sketch shows. I also did some stencil work with the Stencil Brush and some Art Crayons. I love the soft colors and i love how the kraft tag is looking on top of it.

vb-specialjana-040219 (3)

I had a look into the „All the Good Things“ Frames DieCuts and grabbed a few of them. I wanted to stay in the same colors and i found some pretty pieces… i also added some bits from the „Field Notes“ Journaling pieces. I LOVE how easy you can mix the collection together! You can see that i also added some black&white details to the mix, i really love how this is looking.

vb-specialjana-040219 (4)

I layered everything pretty close behind my picture and i ruffled up all of the edges for some texture and dimension. 3D squares were used for even more dimension. I placed the black and white floral pieces between the layers and i love how it looks. The hearts were placed around the big cluster of papers and the picture. I also added a piece of twin to the tag, i grabbed one in brown and white because of the kraft papers and the layered hearts.

vb-specialjana-040219 (5)

I scattered some black and mint/turquoise Enamel Dots around everything and i am totally happy with it. The sketch shows some layered paper pieces on top of the paper and i decided to go with pink and kraft here. I used my notebook punch for the edge from the pink paper. I ruffled up the edges for some shadow and dimension… this page is done and i LOVE it!

Hi everyone, i am back again and I have a new layout for. For this page I used Paige´s Layered Flower cut file and her Whimsical Collection, mixed with some Papers from the Pick Me Up Collection.
I cut the layered Flower from different patterned papers (Whimsical Paper 03 and Paper 17 – Pick Me Up Paper 09, 17 and 23) with my Silhouette Cameo. I used hot glue as my adhesive for all the layers, just because I love how it gives dimension and it is quick and easy, too!
I decided to work on black Cardstock today but I wanted to have some white accents on it. I used a striped stencil and white acrylic paint for it and because I love how white is working on black I added tons of white splatters too!

layeredflowers-grateful-jana1

I placed my picture on the right side from the page and placed the layered flowers around it. I also did some fussy cutting on Whimsical Paper 03 (from the 12×12 Paper Pad with Foil Accents) for some white/gold leaves and on Pick Me Up Paper 02 for matching little flower clusters.  I simply stuck the leaves between all of the flowers with some adhesive foam and/or hot glue. But I wanted to have some more leaves, which I placed around the big flower cluster; the leaves are all included in the Floral Die Cuts.

layeredflowers-grateful-jana2

I grabbed three chipboard stickers from the Pick Me Up Collection; they were totally matching my theme and colors. I placed them between the flowers and on top of the photo. I used a big Tassel Paper Clip for my picture and also some more flower stickers from the Sticker Book. The golden scallop sticker behind my photo is from the Whimsical Sticker Sheet and I really love how it looks there.

layeredflowers-grateful-jana3

I used the Mini Foam Alpha for the year underneath the flowers and the last things i´ve added are even more white acrylic paint splatters. I had a lot of fun with this project and I is my “happy to be me” reminder for this year!

layeredflowers-grateful-jana4

I really hope this inspires you to create your own “I am happy to be me” project very soon. Be sure to check out Paige´s cut files for ideas and inspirations. I always get ideas and I always find a perfect cut file for my next project!
Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a great day

adventure | Vicki Boutin

[werbung]

Hi everyone, i have a fun new Layout to share.
Last weekend was the big fair, creativation … where you there? Have you meet Vicki? I am from Germany, i was not there… I only saw pictures and videos and I’m really excited about the new collection from Vicki, Color Koleidoscope!
But let´s talk about my project; i started this one with some hearts and some handstitching.
This is my third try for this page, i failed so big at the first times but; never give up! you can make it!

1

I had a look into all of the patterned papers from the „Field Notes“ Collection and decided to go with green and peach/pink tones. I also grabbed some matching DieCuts from the Ephemera and the Journaling Pack. I really love how this is looking so far.

2

I used one of the {ink spill} stencils and Gesso for my background. I wanted to have some messy bumpy texture on it… i accidentally dropped the Gesso pot in the wet Gesso on the paper and it left a messy circle stamped image! And i really liked it, so i went ahead and stamped some more messy Gesso circles on to the Foundation Paper. I also added some big splatters to it and i am SO in love with how it turned out! It took some time to dry…

3

I wanted to have the paper layers really pop off from the page and so i grabbed the black Watercolor and worked on my background. I used a lot of water and a few layers of the black.
I love how messy this is looking! The more water i added so more the black turned into a grey – because of that i added some dark splatters at the end!

4

Look how awesome this is looking! I know black is not usable for everyone, but i like it! It totally helps to let the colors really pop!
Once everything was dry i placed my stacks of paper back to the background. I used some staples to hold the papers together and some hot glue to get them on the textured background. This is also giving some extra dimension and i am still able to curl up the edges, if i want to!

5

I really love how this is looking! The cute picture shows my middle one… he just had some chocolate and his tiny face is smeared with it, so adorable!

6

Here you can see how the black is working against the colors. It´s giving some shadow and it helps to let the other colors stand out. I hope you´ll try some black on your next project?!
