Weihnachten 2018 | Alexandra Renke

hi everyone, i have a new layout… i made this just for fun and i love how it turned out!
i used some awesome Alexandra Renke papers and a cute Die. I fussy cut some of the designs out and used them as my elements on my page. The background was made with a cutfile from Paige Evans and a lot of colors… Magicals from Lindy´s and a ShimmerzPaints Vibez.

i had so much fun with the background here, the magical powders are so much fun and i really need more of the colors!

Love the cutfile and i really like how the hearts are looking with the dots on the right and the white on the left. I was thinking about a colored paper for the open spots but because of all the other colors i decided to go with white.

you rock | Paige Evans & Silhouette

Hi everyone, i am back again and I have new Layout to share. I made this Layout about my hubby, who plays the bass/guitar in a band, and he rocks my life. So I grabbed the Guitar CutFile from Paige and started by cutting it out on white cardstock and a soft pink paper (Paper No.17) from her newest collection “Whimsical”

I also wanted to bring in a lot of flowers (Floral Die Cuts) and layering. Flowers are a sign for love and happiness, right?! I balanced nearly all of the flowers on the left side from the Layout. I placed two pictures (duplicated the same) from my hubby on top of the guitar and the flowers. I wanted to have some of the flowers peeking out from one photo but also wanted to add a lot of dimension here.

But before I glued everything to the paper I wanted to bring in some colors too. I grabbed some matching Shimmerz Paints colors and played with them until I was totally happy. I also wanted to use some Rub-Ons around everything, just for more interest; so I added some stars and words next to the flowers. I really love how easy they rub on the paper…

I used the Mini Foam Alphas for my title, which I placed on the right side from the guitar. Really love how this looks. The last things I’ve added to this page were some Stickers from the little Sticker book; some hearts and stars.

Thank you so much for stopping by today

1st day of school | paige evans

Hi everyone, Jana here with you. I have a fun new layout to share. Our little one started 3rd grade in the summer and I have never ever scrapped a picture from his first day of school! What?! So, today was the day and I started this project with the spooky star background CutFile from Paige.

The new “Whimsical” Collection is full of creative things and it is perfect for school pictures. I decided to go with a white cut for the stars, because I wanted to use a patterned paper (No#15) as my background and I wanted to use a lot of colorful elements. I also decided to add some vellum to some of the stars. This looks so cool and the background is shining through. I always love to use vellum on my layouts.

I added a thin layer of white acrylic paint to the patterned paper because I also wanted to add some mixed media to it. I used greens and blues with a touch of yellow here and there. After I stitched some of the stars down I placed the picture on top of them and started to build my layering around it. The stitching gives a fun texture!

I used a lot of school themed images from the Chipboard Stickers, Sticker Book  and ephemera pieces, like a set of notebooks, some brushes, a scissors and a set of watercolors; but also added some fussy cut details from patterned papers. I tried to do some color on color with the little titles on the stars and the elements around it.

This was a really fun project and I totally love how it turned out. The new collection is just awesome and the colors are beautiful!

süsse weihnachten | alexandra renke

hi everyone, i have a fun new layout to share. I used some awesome Design Papers from Alexandra Renke for this project, but not only papers (1 & 2), also a fun stencil, a word Die and some sequins.

This color combination is not my usual style, but i am totally in love! The pink mixed with red and mint. I have never thought of using them together, but this kinda happened by itself. Sometimes you need to be brave and try new things, right?!

I glued four word pieces together and also heat embossed it with a bright red. this is so much fun!

be thankful | vicki boutin

Hi everyone, Jana here again and i have a new layout to share. We´re starting to create some Thanksgiving inspired projects for you and i will start.
I am fighting a cold at the moment and i am spending a lot of time in my bed… but i did some brushlettering with Vickis watercolors and this turned out so great that i was totally inspired to use these colors for my next layout. Not the typical fall colors, but i love how it turned out.

This is the little phrase i wrote and i am thankful for my life. My kiddos and my hubby… i am thankful even when we have to deal with some serious stuff, but that is life, right?
I had to think about this project for a while but once the idea popped into my head, everything worked perfectly! I used the same colors for a lot of stamped and painted leaves.

vb-thankfuljana-11122018 (2)

I started with pink, purple and blue. I mixed the three colors together to get some new/different shades. I splattered over all the leaves to get some more different looks. Once all of the leaves were done i started to seperate them into four color parts. I wanted to use four photos and i also wanted to add the leaves to each of them.

vb-thankfuljana-11122018 (3)

The photos are showing my family, my hubby and my three boys. I really love how the black/white photos are popping off the page. I grabbed a sheet of the Foundations Paper and added some stitched lines with my sewing machine. I wanted to have a visual border between each color section and that is why i added the white stitching on 6″. Now i have four 6×6 squares to fill.

vb-thankfuljana-11122018 (4)

The Journaling pieces were used for some layering behind the photos. I wanted to use a lot of layered leaves and so i only added one paper behind each photo. I used foam tape for more dimension. Once i was happy with the layering and the details i glued everything down. My journaling is running around the background paper. It´s also a visual border around everything.

vb-thankfuljana-11122018 (5)

Some Chipboard stickers were placed on top or next to each photo, the black and white leaves from the watercolor stickers and matching enamel dots to finish this page. I really love how this one turned out.

Eisblume – scrapbook werkstatt

hi everyone, i have some new layouts to share. i´ve made them with the november Kit from Scrapbook Werkstatt called „Eisblume
i started my design team history at this team, 5 years ago… and now i am back! thank you Tina for asking me and for having me.

i will show you two layouts today…
the first one called „happiness“ – i have made a lot of pages with the Indigo hill 2 Collection from Pinkfresh Studio and so i really needed to think about a new way to use the awesome papers 😉 i found one and i love how this one turned out

i added stitches and 4 layer of tissue paper to some of the leaves, i really like the dimension. the dark purple leaves are from one of the patterned paper and i fussy cut them out. The colors are perfectly matching my photo… the other dieCuts are from Prima Marketing and they have some awesome foil on…
you´ll find a process video for this layout on my youtube channel… CLICK

the next layout is my favorite…. i write the title with a brush and the watercolor that is included in the kit. the color is awesome!
i had a big problem with the alpha stickers (also included in the kit) and so i decided to add a whole sheet from them to my layering. i love how this is looking… the flowers are fussy cut from on of the Pinkfresh Studio papers.

That´s it for today. thanks for stopping by
happy halloween and happy crafting!

hello there beautiful | vicki boutin

Hi there, i am back again and I have a fun new layout to share. I have a thing for layered paper pieces and so I decided to go with a wonky and messy square today. The colors in the Field Notes Collection are awesome, I am scrapping a picture from my hubby today, but I grabbed the soft pinks and yellows. I really don´t mind to scrap my boy photos with girly stuff.

I started this Layout with a gessoed sheet of the Foundation paper, Stencils, Iridescent Glaze and the Art Crayons. I guess you already know that these little Crayons are my favorite things to play with… did you know that you can mix them with the different glazes?

With that said, I scribbled some of the black Art Crayon on a piece of plastic and added Iridescent Glaze to it. Then I used the pallet knife to mix them together. You´ll get a beautiful shade of grey with a lot of shimmer in it. Just beautiful!

I grabbed three different Stencils, from the new Release, and started to add the Iridescent grey on the Paper. I used my pallet knife for it. I started with some circles in one corner, some hearts and some flowers were added too. I let enough space between the shapes because I knew I wanted to color the foundation paper around them too.

Once everything was dry I grabbed some more Art Crayons and some flowers from the Icon pack as my color guide. So I started to mix the Art Crayons together until I was happy with the shades I created.

I added a lot of water around the dried glaze and started to bring the Art Crayons pigment into it. I added a few layers of the colors, because I wanted to have a messy watercolor look. You´ll get that look/effect when you let each layer dry completely. I played with the water and the Art Crayons… until I was totally happy.

Then I went ahead and used a square paper as a template. I cut the paper I created in wonky triangles and added some of the patterned papers from the 12×12 Paper pad too. I really love how this turned out, and yes, they are wonky and not straight, but that was exactly the look I wanted. I also added four layers of tissue paper to each of the triangles and stitched them together.

Once I was done with the stitching part I started to look to other embellishments I wanted to use. I grabbed some flowers, butterflies and stickers. But I also stamped some leaves on some matching patterned papers. Fussy cut them out and added them to the mix of elements. I really love this tone on tone thing. You can never go wrong with that.

I laid everything on another sheet of the foundation paper and after I was totally sure about the placement I started to glue the things down. I used some 3D dots for more dimension and I also ruffled up the edges from the messy triangles and flowers/leaves; just because I love the look of it.

I stapled some last chipboard stickers on the photo and placed my title on top of everything. I love how the black word pops off the page.

I hope you enjoyed this little how to and I hope even more that you´ll will get creative today too!
There is a process video up on my YouTube channel as well, have fun watching it.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a great day

be a little crazy | vicki boutin

Hi everyone, Jana back again and I have another Field Notes layout to share. I enjoy working with this collection so much. Everything works so well together and it is so easy to create some magic with this line. The photo for this project shows me and my little one. We just had fun with some selfies and I think this one was four years ago. I love this silly monkey so much

I started this project with a lot of fussy cutting. I grabbed the 12×12 patterned papers “Choose to shine”, “Among the Wildflowers” and “Take Flight” and started to cut out a lot of the flowers, leaves and butterflies. I also grabbed “Daydreamer” to create some simple leaves from the bright green; I added some stitching details to them. A few Die Cuts were added to the mix too.

I knew that I wanted to split the paper visually. That’s why I have provided the lower part with black stripes. I used the black watercolor for it. I added a bit of the color to a piece of plastic and added water to it. I am working on the white Foundation Paper and have not used any gesso for it. I would have done that when I have used more water.

For the upper part of the paper, I wanted to have something tender. So I decided to use the Art Crayons and a stencil. I took the green from the leaves and added a few delicate circles. The template is from the set {ink spill} – one of my favorites from the new release.

I used the big stencil brush for this. It is so easy and what I love the most. You can customize your colors so easy with the Art Crayons, just mix them together on some plastic and load the brush with it; with circular movements, you pick up the pigments and can put them on paper for the same way, very simple but so effective! I also added a few splatters in the same colors, just for more interest.

Once I was happy with my background I started to lay down all of the flowers and leaves. The big Die Cut piece “be happy” is my title. I really love this pieces with Vicki´s own handwriting. All of the pieces were adhered down with some foam tape, for more dimension and interest. I curled up the edges from the leaves because of the natural look and feel from leaves.

Then I went ahead and added the butterflies to the mix. I love how that is looking and you can never go wrong with butterflies and flowers, right?

Because of the black stripes in the lower part I decided to add some black hearts to the upper part too. I grabbed some black and white watercolor stickers too. The last thing I’ve added was the word Smile and a Chipboard sticker. I really love this mix of fonts and words here.

Thank you so much for stopping by today and don´t forget to grab yourself some “Field Notes” goodies and have some fun.
