booth 4.1 K35 | JOT Moodboard

hi there, it´s me…
back among the living – i had a nasty cold that kept me in bed the entire last week! i would call it flu and i am happy that i am without fever and able to leave the bed!

so, you all know that i am the biggest fan from the JOT moodboard challenges, right?! This month moodboard is awesome, soft colors and the best part… you can win a guest month at the JOT Team! how freaking awesome!!! This would be a little dream come true, seriously!

i really love how the layout turned out! like i said in the first sentence… i was very sick the last days and my brain is not working good (haha) so i just wanted to sit and create something… without thinking to much. i should do that more often, just making, not thinking 😉

Hey Finley | Vicki Boutin

Hi and hello, I have a new Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Layout for you. I started this Page on the White Foundation Paper, because I wanted to add color and water. The quality of the paper allows me to do that – without any curling from the paper. It is the perfect paper for Mixed Media!

heyfinley-janamm1

So, I grabbed the “Watermelon Burst” Acrylic Pop Color (Set 2) and watered it down, so that I can get a nice messy color area on my Paper. I added a lot of splatters, used one of the Watercolor Brushes for it. I also mixed a Distress Oxide (peacock feathers) to the acrylic color on the Paper. I really like how the colors look together.

Before I started to work on my page design I grabbed the “Blue Hawaiian” Color Pop Acrylic Paint (Set 3) and an old Gift card to get more color on the paper. No water this time, just the plain color.

I used some big Die Cut Pieces from the “All the Good Things Frames” Pack for my layering behind the Photo. I only used blue, green and black here. Really like how the colors are matching the Medias I already have on my Layout. I also added a lot of black stitches (used my sewing machine) to the color areas for more interest and another texture. I think that stitching is always a good idea or just some thread behind some Die Cuts… you could also use matching colors and it will totally change the look of the Layout. Or if you just want to add a tiny hint of color behind something, grab some thread, make a little tangled nest from it and tuck it between the papers/photos.

heyfinley-janamm2

The Paint on the edges looked a bit empty so I decided to add some Die Cuts to it. For the upper corner I used a little label, stitched it down, added a stamp and a glitter heart on top. Done!

heyfinley-janamm3

For the lower Corner I grabbed the Number one from the “All the Good Things Icons” Pack – remember my last Page? I used the Number two for my second born boy. And yes, I will work on another Layout with the Number three for my last born… just love the Idea!

heyfinley-janamm4

I used some Phrase/Glitter Foam Thickers for my title but not only that. I also used the Alpha/B&W Chipboard Stickers for his Name and a Chipboard Die Cut word “hey” on top from the photo. Really love to mix and match all the different Fonts.

Tell your Story | Vicki Boutin

Hi everyone, i am totally excited to tell you that i´ve made it in the first ever Design Team from Vicki Boutin – the Mixed Media Makers! Woooop…

vbdt

but let´s move on to my first layout

tellyourstory-janamm1

I started with the Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Foundation Paper and some Gesso. I used an old Gift Card to get a nice, smooth & thin layer of gesso on my paper. I grabbed the Mixed Media Oil Pastel Art Crayons #2 Cool to get some color on my page. I watered them down with one of the Watercolor Brushes and painted them onto the Paper. For a more messy look I used the Art Crayons on the Gift Card – scribbled some lines on the Card, added a touch of Water and smooshed it as a second coat over the paint I already have on my paper. I also used the Color Pop Acrylic Paint Set 2 for some splatters and one of the Stencils with the Creative FX Glaze for another texture on the Paper

tellyourstory-janamm2

I painted the exact same Image on a second piece of paper because I wanted to have some Flowers that looked like they came from the background paper. I used the Stamp and Dies Set 2 from “All the Good Things”

tellyourstory-janamm4

One of the patterned papers (social butterfly) was used to cut out some butterflies to use them as elements on the Layout. I really love how they look next to the flowers.
I decided to add my journaling and the Foam Thicker Word on the left hand side and in a different direction like the text from the stencil. I used two of the Makers for my writing and I really like how good they write on gesso and the art crayons.

tellyourstory-janamm3

I really had fun with this first Layout and I love all the different Things in the Collection and I really can´t wait to create some more pages!

the little things!

hi everyone, i grabbed the current moodboard from the JOT blog and had some fun!
the last two months were very terrible and it took me some time to get back on my scrapping table, but i made it… it helped me to get through this…
this layout, not for the challenge, was the first one i scrapped… i cried when i was making it! but it was kinda good to get the page done!

justbreathe

but life goes on and…. yeah, you know what i mean, right?!
so, let´s talk about the moodboard challenge, i am always a big fan of the moodboards, and this one is no exception! all the gold…. *love

enjoylittle1

i just love how this turned out!! the touch of black here, LOVE!
there is no black on the moodboard but you know, i need black on a page, especially when the layout is that bright!

#30dayswatercolorquotes

hi everyone, Janna Werner started a challenge, called the 30 days watercolor quotes and i was like, oh yes… i love this one! let´s join the fun!
guess what?! i failed… i made it to day 12… woooop, NOT!
when i started on this challenge, i was full of ideas and had really fun! but after a few days it was more like, „what should i paint today…?“ – „what quote do i want to use…?!“

i really enjoyed the painting and the time i spent doing that! but the process before i could start was not easy. i had no ideas and no clue how to get inspired! maybe it was not the challenge, it was not the right time for me to join! kwim?!

never mind, i want to share a few of my favorite pieces with you!
